Ontario Okays Autonomous Car Testing on Public Roads

Ontario will become Canada’s first province to permit self-driving cars to be tested on its public roadways, effective Jan. 1.
The province also says it will increase some C$2.5 million in funding for connected and automated vehicle research by $500,000. The government will begin accepting applications for the pilot test program for autonomous vehicles at the end of November.
