Nissan Motor Co. says it’s in the final review process for adding a crash test facility at its Farmington Hills, Mich., research and development complex.
If the project is approved, construction could start this summer and be completed by the end of 2020. The carmaker already has been approved by the city to receive a $1.9 million tax break over six years.
Nissan says it has invested more than $270 million in the r&d complex since it was opened in 1991, including a $38 million expansion in 2002. Some 1,200 people are currently employed there.
