A customer in California took delivery last week of Hyundai Motor Co.’s fuel cell-powered Nexo crossover, marking the first sale of the all-new model in the U.S.

The Nexo, which succeeds Hyundai’s Tucson fuel cell vehicle, was launched in South Korea and Europe last summer.

The new model can travel about 600 km (370 miles) per fill-up-about 25% farther than the Tucson FCEV.

The Nexo starts at $58,300 in the U.S. The price includes a free year of maintenance and hydrogen fueling cards worth as much as $13,000.
