Environment Minister Rafael Pacchiano tells Reuters that Mexico's Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection is scrutinizing the past six years' worth of emission records for diesel-powered Golf hatchback and Jetta sedans sold in the country.
Pacchiano says VW sold about 9,000 diesel vehicles in Mexico last year. The company builds about 515,000 Beetle, Golf and Jetta models in Mexico per year at its huge complex in Puebla,
