Toyota Motor Corp.’s Lexus unit is standardizing its "Safety System+" suite of technologies across all 2020 cars and SUV/crossovers sold in the U.S.
The package includes pre-collision alert with pedestrian detection, lane-departure alert, automatic high-beam headlights and adaptive cruise control.
If the pre-crash system detects a potential collision with another vehicle or pedestrian, it sounds an alert and readies the brakes for increased response. When necessary, the brakes are automatically applied and can bring a vehicle to a complete stop in some cases.
