KT Demos 5G Self-Driving Bus in Korea
KT Corp., South Korea's largest telecommunications company, tested a self-driving bus equipped with 5G communications this week at Incheon International Airport in Seoul.
KT Corp., South Korea's largest telecommunications company, tested a self-driving bus equipped with 5G communications this week at Incheon International Airport in Seoul.
KT, which demonstrated its 5G technology during the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics in February, is developing 5GaVP (5G as a Vehicle Platform) for commercial vehicles.
The company also has developed GiGA Drive IVI, a speech-recognition infotainment platform for connected cars that can be used to provide real-time navigation and alerts for driver assistance systems.
Last month KT signed an agreement with Incheon airport to implement 5G, artificial intelligence, big data and the Internet of Things applications throughout the facility.
