Kia Ponders Mexican Assembly Plant
Kia Motors Corp. says it is considering Mexico as a location for an assembly plant to supply cars for the Americas.

But the company has not commented on a Reuters report last month claiming it has chosen Monterrey, Mexico, for the site of a factory with capacity to build 300,000 vehicles per year.
Kia and parent Hyundai Motor Co. acknowledge they are pondering ways to ease a U.S. capacity crunch they say is hurting sales in the region. Kia makes cars and SUVs in West Point, Ga. Hyundai builds cars in Montgomery, Ala. Both facilities are running above their standard capacity.
