JLR Ponders a U.S. Assembly Plant
Jaguar Land Rover is in talks with several states in the southern U.S. about erecting an assembly plant that could produce 200,000 vehicles per year, according to the U.K.'s Sunday Times.

Jaguar Land Rover is in talks with several states in the southern U.S. about erecting an assembly plant that could produce 200,000 vehicles per year, according to the U.K.'s Sunday Times.
JLR declined to comment beyond acknowledging it is looking at "various options" for expanding its global footprint. Last year the company's sales in the U.S. jumped 20% to 67,000 units.
JLR will launch its first full-scale assembly plant outside England on Oct. 21 when operations begin at its joint-venture factory with Chery Automobile Co. Ltd. in Changshu, China. The company also is scheduled to open a local assembly facility in Brazil in 2016.
