Isuzu Motors Ltd. denies a Nikkei report that it will withdraw from its 13-year-old diesel-making venture with General Motors Co. in Poland.
Isuzu Motors Ltd. denies a Nikkei report that it will withdraw from its 13-year-old diesel-making venture with General Motors Co. in Poland.
The Polish venture has supplied diesels for GM's troubled Opel unit since 1999, most recently for the Astra sedan, Corsa supermini and Meriva minivan.
The Nikkei, which cites no sources, also says Isuzu wants to cut its workforce in Europe 10% and halt development work on new engines because of the weak car market there.
Isuzu denies plans for cutbacks in Europe or dissolving the GM venture, Reuters reports. The Japanese company declines comment about shelving work on a new diesel for Opel.
