Hyundai Motor Co. tells The Economic Times it is considering plans to build a second assembly plant in India.
The company's current factory in Chennai is running at about 98% of capacity. Hyundai announced earlier this month it has freed up more capacity for the domestic market by phasing out exports to Europe.
Hyundai India CEO B.S. Seo tells the Times the company has made no final decision about a second assembly plant but adds, "We are looking at it very closely."
