South Korea's Hyundai Motor Co. has no immediate plans to erect a new assembly plant in the U.S. to make Hyundai or Kia vehicles, Chairman Chung Mong-koo tells reporters.
He was responding to rumors that the company intends to ease its tight vehicle supplies in North America by adding capacity there. The speculation intensified after Chung said last week that Hyundai would look into possible opportunities to expand overseas production.
