General Motors Co.’s Maven mobility unit is introducing a service that allows users to pay a monthly fee to reserve select vehicles for 28 days.
The program is being rolled out in Los Angeles and San Francisco, where members initially will be able to reserve a Chevrolet Tahoe SUV for $1,500 or a Chevy Volt plug-in hybrid car for $1,100. The price includes a dedicated parking spot, insurance and $100 worth of gasoline.
The new Maven Reserve program is similar to the Book by Cadillac service GM launched earlier this year in New York City. That program also costs a flat rate of $1,500 per month.
