GM Taps Quality Exec to Head N. American Manufacturing
General Motors Co. has appointed Gerald Johnson, executive director of global program quality and launch, to become its vice president of North American manufacturing on July 1.
General Motors Co. has appointed Gerald Johnson, executive director of global program quality and launch, to become its vice president of North American manufacturing on July 1.
He will report to Tim Lee, head of global manufacturing and president of international operations.
Johnson succeeds Diana Tremblay, who was named last week to take charge of GM's new Global Business Services unit on July 1.
Johnson has held a series of jobs in labor relations and manufacturing during his 33-year GM career. In his new post, he will oversee more than 74,000 employees at 56 plants in Canada, Mexico and the U.S.
