The final Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck rolled off the line at General Motors Co.'s assembly plant in Shreveport, La., marking the end of production at the 31-year-old facility.

The company has not said where it will make the next generation of midsize pickup trucks.

The factory, which had more than 2,500 workers at its peak, has fewer than 800 employees now. Most of them are retiring, taking buyouts or transferring to other GM plants.

The company expects decommissioning of the plant to be completed by Dec. 1. GM sold the facility to a real estate firm in March 2011.
