About €9 million is earmarked for a two-year project in Dusseldorf that will focus on the interoperability of several driver-assistance functions in real-world conditions. Industry partners include Mobileye, Siemens, Vodafone and ZF.
Other programs will test automated and connected vehicle technologies in Berlin and on the A9 autobahn in Bavaria. Since December 2016, the research program has awarded 20 projects with funding totaling €47 million ($54 million).
