Gehring to Head Safety, New Tech Unit for Global Automakers Group
The Assn. of Global Automakers has hired Steve Gehring to be the trade group’s vice president of vehicle safety and connected automation.
Gehring has more than 25 years of experience in various engineering and management positions at carmakers and "intelligent" transportation organizations.

The Assn. of Global Automakers has hired Steve Gehring to be the trade group’s vice president of vehicle safety and connected automation.
Gehring has more than 25 years of experience in various engineering and management positions at carmakers and "intelligent" transportation organizations. He most recently was director of public policy for vehicle safety for General Motors Co.
Gehring has a bachelor of science degree from Kettering University and a master’s in science from the University of Michigan. He serves on the national board of directors for Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
The Washington, D.C.-based automaker association represents the U.S. operations of international vehicle manufacturers, suppliers and other automotive-related businesses. Members comprise 12 Asian and European carmakers and five supplier companies.
