Ford Will Idle Australia Factories for a Week
Ford Motor Co. says it will suspend production at its two assembly plants in Australia from Thursday through next Wednesday because of a parts shortage caused when suspension components supplier CMI International went bankrupt early this week.
Ford Motor Co. says it will suspend production at its two assembly plants in Australia from Thursday through next Wednesday because of a parts shortage caused when suspension components supplier CMI International went bankrupt early this week.
The Ford facilities in Broadmeadows and Geelong employ 1,800 workers.
Ford says it hopes CMI's newly appointed receivers will be able to quickly restart CMI's production while the supplier is reorganized.
