Ford Plans $685 Million Plant Expansion in Canada
Ford Motor Co. is spending US$685 million to hike capacity at its assembly plant in Oakville, Ont.
Ford Motor Co. is spending US$685 million to hike capacity at its assembly plant in Oakville, Ont.
The factory builds the Ford Edge, Ford Flex, Lincoln MKX and MKT crossovers. The company says the expansion to add several unspecified "new global models" will be completed about a year from now.
The Oakville complex employs 2,800 workers. Ford says equipping the facility for global manufacturing will enable it to adjust production to shifting market demand in North America and overseas.
