FEV GmbH’s North American unit has acquired a 51% stake in TrigTec LLC, a Redford, Mich.-based component testing specialist. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
Formed about 25 years ago, TrigTec supplies in-process manufacturing testing, automation, fabrication, machining and component integration services. Its product line includes dynamometers, conditioning systems, instrumentation, and data acquisition and control units, which FEV says complements its own testing products.
TrigTec is expected to benefit from FEV’s global resources and customer base. FEV says it may increase its investment in TrigTec and possibly could take full ownership of the company in the future.
FEV provides product development and engineering services for combustion engines, transmission, turbines, electric motors and hybrid powertrains. The company’s testing capabilities range from simulation and hardware-in-the-loop to end-of-line hot testing.
