Washington, D.C.-based Carlyle Group LP is close to cinching a deal this week to buy DuPont Co.'s automotive paint unit for about $4.8 billion, Reuters says, citing anonymous sources.
Washington, D.C.-based Carlyle Group LP is close to cinching a deal this week to buy DuPont Co.'s automotive paint unit for about $4.8 billion, Reuters says, citing anonymous sources.
The unit supplies paints and coatings to Ford, General Motors and such aftermarket refinishers as Maaco.
DuPont began the sales process last autumn and drew bids from at least four private equity groups, Reuters previously reported.
