Several Toyota Motor Corp. assembly plants that were idled in Japan on Monday by an explosion at a supplier facility will be back online today, the company says.
Lines at facilities operated by Toyota, Daihatsu and other affiliates suspended operations after running out of brake components normally made by Aisin Advics Co. The supplier shut down production after an explosion in its paint finishing area.
This week's disruption was Toyota’s third this year. The company halted production throughout Japan in January after an explosion at a steel supplier’s mill and again in mid-April when two earthquakes damaged supplier operations.
