Andra Rush, who founded Detroit Manufacturing Systems LLC (DMS) in 2012, has sold her majority stake in the firm to Bruce Smith, the co-owner and CEO of Marysville, Ohio-based tooling maker BTM Co.

Smith also will take over for Rush as CEO of DMS, which makes a variety of interior trim and underhood components. Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

Rush started DSM as a joint venture with France’s Faurecia SA. The Michigan-based company has grown to annual sales of $1 billion and employs about 1,200 people at its facilities in Michigan and Ohio.

The sale doesn’t affect Rush’s ownership in Rush Group, Dakkota Integrated Systems, Rush Trucking and Rush Supply Chain Management.
