Diesel maker Cummins Inc. says it has agreed to review its emission test procedures for engines supplied for heavy-duty Ram pickup trucks made in the U.S. by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV.

The decision follows conversations between the company and regulators at the Environmental Protection Agency and California Air Resources Board about certification tests for Cummins diesels used in 2019 model Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups.

In January FCA agreed to pay some $800 in fines over federal and state lawsuits claiming that 104,000 of the company’s diesel-powered 2014-2016 Ram pickups used illegal software that violate emission laws.
