Carmera Wins Inaugural AutoMobili-D Innovation Award
Carmera, a New York City-based developer of 3D maps, received the “Best of Show” award for mobility innovation at the AutoMobili-D tech expo in conjunction with this week’s Detroit auto show.
Carmera, a New York City-based developer of 3D maps, received the “Best of Show” award for mobility innovation at the AutoMobili-D tech expo in Detroit.
Carmera provides real-time maps and navigation data for autonomous vehicles, as well as 3D scene reconstruction and site analytics data for the architecture, construction, real estate and other building-related segments. The company also received the top award for the Autonomous Driving segment at AutoMobili-D.
Florida-based Voxx Automotive was named best in class in the Connected Car segment for its EVO rear-seat entertainment system. The technology allows users to access multiple digital devices, gaming consoles and streaming sticks from in-vehicle displays.
In the e-mobility category, Urban626’s was recognized for its URB-E system. The Pasadena, Calif.-based company makes a variety of foldable electric devices that can be used for personal use or transporting goods.
ParkJa received the Mobility Services innovation award for its Parkofon technology. The smartphone app allows users to find and pay for available parking spaces, including metered street locations.
Irvine, Calif.-based Immotor USA topped the Smart Cities category for its GO II electric scooter. The device features a swappable battery pack that can be customized for different applications.
The inaugural awards were sponsored by PlanetM, a consortium of businesses, universities and government groups working together as part of the Michigan Economic Development Corp. A panel of 24 industry experts judged technologies services from about 150 exhibitors at Automobili-D, which was launched last year as an offshoot of the Detroit auto show.
