Canada’s Hydro-Quebec says it increased the number of Electric Circuit charging stations in Quebec last year 38% to more than 800 stations, including 66 fast-charge outlets. The utility aims to have 2,500 stations in operation by 2020.
Electric Circuit membership grew 64% to 11,500 people last year with usage jumping 146% to more than 114,000 charges, according to the company. Hydro-Quebec says more than 85% of EV owners in Quebec belong to Electric Circuit.
The network consists of 181 companies, institutions and municipalities that have purchased and installed charging stations. More than 40 partners joined the group in 2016.
