BMW AG is recalling 570,000 cars in the U.S. and Canada to replace a battery cable connector that could fail and cause the engine to stop.

BMW AG is recalling 570,000 cars in the U.S. and Canada to replace a battery cable connector that could fail and cause the engine to stop.
The company also will repair the same problem in 100,000 vehicles in Japan and 50,000 vehicles in South Africa.
The campaign involves 1 Series small coupes and convertibles; Z4 sports cars; and best-selling 3 Series sedans, coupes, convertibles and wagons from various periods during the 2007-2011 model years.
This week's announcement follows by three days an expanded recall to fix faulty brake booster systems in 228,600 of the company's X5 crossover vehicles.
