According to the company, the CAD/CAM/CAE software has enhancements and functions that can improve productivity but up to three times.
“The new and enhanced capa-bilities,” says Jim Rusk, senior vice president, Product Engineering Software, Siemens PLM software, “make the early concept phase—which is one of the most important phases of the design—easier and faster. The new touch-enabled interface”—this is an option that permits NX access on tablets running Microsoft Windows—“and tighter integration with Active Workspace”—an interface to Siemens’ Teamcenter software that can be accessed via the web by any device—“gives NX 10 unprecedented versatility, providing anytime, anywhere access to product data.”
Among the features of the new package are production line design capabilities for automotive assembly; dynamically adjusted roughing strategies for die and mold machining; and automated inspection programming capabilities for coordinate measuring machines (CMMs).
On the advanced end of things, there is a new CAE metaphysics environment that can connect two or more solvers to facilitate the process of performing complex simulations.
