A Driverless Vehicle You Don’t Want to Encounter
At the recent Eurosatory defense expo in Paris, a ground vehicle was shown that isn’t exactly autonomous, more drone-like in performance: the THeMIS:ADDER, which was developed by Estonian company Milrem and ST Kinetics of Singapore.

At the recent Eurosatory defense expo in Paris, a ground vehicle was shown that isn’t exactly autonomous, more drone-like in performance: the THeMIS:ADDER, which was developed by Estonian company Milrem and ST Kinetics of Singapore.

The vehicle is unmanned but it is wirelessly operated, which makes it an unmanned guided vehicle (UGV).
The THeMIS part of the device, from Milrem, is the “Tracked Hybrid Modular Infantry System.” It offers a payload of up to 1,000 kg. It can be used for a variety of tasks, including remote reconnaissance, medevac, and supply delivery.
And it can handle an ADDER remote weapon station, which is supplied by ST Kinetics
The first live-firing tests of the THeMIS:ADDER will be conducted by the Estonian Defense Forces and ST Kinetics in August and September.
