VW Recalls Passat Diesels to Fix Wiring Short Circuit

Volkswagen AG is recalling 91,000 of its diesel-powered 2014-2015 model Passat sedans in the U.S. to repair a possible short circuit that could cause a fire.
The callback targets a connector to an underbody sensor that could corrode. VW documents posted on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration don’t specify the function of the affected sensor. But they say a short would cause the car’s malfunction indicator light to illuminate.
VW tells dealers it is developing a specific list of affected models and an inspection/repair procedure and will advise them when it is ready to begin the recall.
