Employers added a scant 88,000 U.S. jobs in March, the smallest one-month increase in more than a year, according to the Dept. of Labor. The department revised its January and February estimates upward by a combined 61,000 jobs.

The unemployment rate, which is based on a separate survey, dropped to a four-year low of 7.6% last month from 7.7% in February.
