Christopher Burghardt, chief of European policy for Uber Technologies Inc., has quit the ride-hailing service to European director for California-based ChargePoint Inc.

ChargePoint operates 40,000 charging units for electric cars in the U.S. and Mexico. Earlier this year the company completed two rounds of fundraising led by Daimler and Siemens, collecting $125 million to bankroll an expansion into Europe.

Last May ChargePoint landed a deal to supply more than 200 of its Express Plus quick-charge systems to British charging network operator InstaVolt Ltd.

Before joining Uber a year ago, Burghardt handled business development and policy in Europe and the Middle East for Arizona-based solar panel producers First Solar Inc.

He is the latest in a long list of senior executives who have left Uber this year. The company is struggling to overcome a toxic corporate culture and numerous legal crises brought on in large part by ousted CEO and founder Travis Kalanick. Last month London’s transport authority refused to renew Uber’s operating license after finding the company not “fit and proper.”
