The carmaker will receive an unspecified stake in Albert when the deal is completed at the end of the month. The companies also will work together on big data analysis algorithms for automated driving technologies.

Albert was formed in 2005 and now employs about 100 data scientists. The company, which recently expanded into image analysis used in automated driving systems, will work with the carmaker’s Toyota Research Institute in the U.S. and Toyota Research Institute-Advanced Development in Tokyo.
