Tesla Inc. reportedly has made initial inspections of at least two possible sites in Germany for a factory to make electric cars and battery packs.
Tesla Inc. reportedly has made initial inspections of at least two possible sites in Germany for a factory to make electric cars and battery packs.

Local media reports say Tesla has looked at would-be locations near Germany’s western borders with Belgium, France and the Netherlands.
The Rheinische Post reports that the U.S. carmaker has visited sites in North Rhine-Westphalia and Saarland. Last week Lower Saxony’s economy minister said Tesla has indicated interest in that region too.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has been eying Europe, expected to become the world’s second-largest EV market after China, for months. He said in April that the company might build a factory in Germany.
