Some of the worse snowfall in 50 years cut of supplies to nine Japanese assembly plants on Monday, forcing them to suspend operations, the Financial Times reports.
The disruptions are centered in Aichin prefecture in central Japan. Toyota says it halted output at factories in Motomachi, Tahara, Takaoka and Tsutsumi on Monday and expects to reopen all four by the end of today.
Suzuki halted operations at its facilities in Iwata, Kosai and Sagara on Monda. Honda stopped production at Sayama and Yorii. Neither company has said when it expects to resume operations at those facilities.
