Skoda Workers Agree to 11% Hike in Compensation

Union workers at Volkswagen AG’s Skoda unit in the Czech Republic have agreed on a two-year labor contract that will hike their wages 3.5% in April and 3% in January, Reuters reports, which cites a company newsletter.
Workers also will be entitled to richer bonuses that, in addition to wages, will increase overall compensation 11%, according to the news service.
The newsletter quotes a union leader as saying the agreement will raise the company’s labor costs by 2.6 billion crowns ($109 million) over two years. Reuters says Skoda had no comment.
