PSA Drops a Shift at Poissy Factory

PSA Peugeot Citroen says it will eliminate one of two production shifts at its assembly plant in Poissy, France, to better match capacity with sales demand.
The reduction will affect about 180 workers who produce the Peugeot 208 small car. Those workers will be assigned to other jobs within PSA, according to the company.
The company, which shut down its assembly plant in Aulnay last autumn, has signaled that further reductions but not entire plant closures were likely. Last month PSA told Reuters it might eliminate a shift at Poissy and its factory in Mulhouse, which produces the Citroen C4 and DS4 small cars and Peugeot 2008 small crossover.
