Porsche AG is checking 2,500 of its just-introduced Macan small SUV to determine if their brake boosters were damaged during the assembly process.
The company says dealers will be able to conduct the inspection in a few minutes. It adds that the vehicle's brake will meet legal requirements even if the booster unit was damaged.
Most affected vehicles are in Europe, according to the company. The Macan was introduced last month and is expected to help Porsche hike its annual sales from 162,100 units last year to more than 200,000 by 2015.
