Opel to Expand Diesel Plant in Poland
General Motors Co.'s Opel unit says it will invest €250 million to increase diesel engine capacity at its factory in Tychy, Poland.
General Motors Co.'s Opel unit says it will invest €250 million to increase diesel engine capacity at its factory in Tychy, Poland.
The expansion will prepare the facility to make as many as 200,000 1.6-liter 4-cylinder diesels per year. The new family of all-aluminum powerplants, which are designed to meet Euro 6 emission standards, will go into production in 2017.
The investment will increase the Tychy plant's footprint 30% and add storage space and production and testing lines, according to the company.
