General Motors Co.'s Opel unit reiterates that it will move production of its Zafira MPV to its assembly plant in Russelsheim, Germany, in 2015.
The Zafira is currently made at an Opel factory in Bochum, Germany. But that is slated to close at the end of next year as part of the company's restructuring plan.
To make room for the MPV, production of the Astra compact hatchback will shift from Russelsheim to the company's underutilized facility in Gliwice, Poland, which already makes that model.
The Bochum plant built about 50,000 Zafiras last year, about the same number as Russelsheim's Astra output.
