Nissan Hikes Forecast as U.S. Sales Surge

Results were driven by strong sales in the U.S. and improving demand in Europe, which offset slumps in China and Japan.
Nissan, which predicts more of the same through the fiscal year ending March 31, has raised its full-fiscal-year outlook significantly.
The carmaker now expects an operating profit of 730 billion yen ($6 billion) for the year, up 24% from the previous 12-month period and 10% from an earlier forecast. The company also anticipates net income will climb 17% to about 535 billion yen.
Nissan’s revenue through the first nine months of 2015 totaled 9.2 trillion yen ($76 billion), more than seven times that of alliance partner Renault SA.
