PSA Peugeot Citroen aims to eliminate as many as 2,450 jobs in France next year, says Bloomberg News, which cites an internal document.
The reductions would be in addition to the 11,200 jobs PSA is cutting in France this year.
Bloomberg says next year's plan hopes to trim 1,500 automotive jobs by offering eligible workers an early retirement package. The deal would enable them to work part time and collect 70% of their normal pay for two or three years before leaving the company.
PSA hopes to shed another 950 positions by urging workers to start their own businesses or seek jobs with other companies. If they choose to return after two years, PSA pledges to rehire them.
Bloomberg says the document it saw indicates the company also plans to hire 550 new full-time workers in 2015.
