The Massachusetts Institute of Technology and South Carolina’s Clemson University will participate in the AutoMobili-D expo in Detroit next January.
The schools are the seventh and eighth universities to commit to AutoMobili-D, doubling the participation at last January’s inaugural event held in conjunction with the Detroit auto show. The full list of university participants comprises:
- Clemson University – International Center for Automotive Research
- Kettering University
- Massachusetts Institute of Technology
- Northwood University in Detroit
- Ohio Smart Mobility (The Ohio State University)
- Stanford University’s Center for Automotive Research
- Transportation Research Center Inc. (affiliate to The Ohio State University)
- University of Michigan
- University of Waterloo (Ontario) Centre for Automotive Research
As part of the University Community section, which is sponsored by Magna International Inc., the schools will have displays and participate in leadership symposiums during AutoMobili-D.
More than 180 brands, carmakers, suppliers, tech startups, universities and government organizations participated at the inaugural event earlier this year. Next year’s show will have 25% more floor space (150,000-sq-ft) . The expo also will be open more days, expanding from the media and supplier days to the first weekend of auto show’s public days.
