BMW AG's Mini unit is testing consumer interest for its most unusual variant yet: a two-seat roadster with virtually no styling cues in common with other Minis except the headlamps and grille.

The Superleggera Vision features a long hood, deck lid fin, carbon fiber platform, aluminum body, electric powertrain and extremely Spartan dash.

The car's taillamps and interior door handles evoke the Union Jack.

The car was created by Mini with Milan-based Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera srl, which specializes in lightweight car design. Mini CEO Peter Schwarzenbauer tells Automotive News Europe a production version of the car might sell for about €35,000 if BMW's board decides to approve the model.
