Carmakers would be well advised to remain calm over Trump administration threats of tariffs and border taxes to avoid wrecking talks to revise the North American Free Trade Agreement, says Fiat Chrysler Automobiles CEO Sergio Marchionne.
He suggests to reporters at the Geneva auto show that carmakers should “wait until the noise stops” before contributing their own threats to the discussion.
Marchionne acknowledges that the collapse of NAFTA negotiations would affect FCA’s investment decisions in Canada and Mexico.
