India’s Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. tells reporters in Mumbai that it is looking for locations to build its first overseas assembly plant. The company offered no details about the timing, location or type of vehicles it plans to build.

Mahindra currently makes SUVs and farm tractor at 14 factories in India with combined annual capacity of 1 million vehicles per year.

Bloomberg News notes that the company has grown primarily through acquisitions. Mahindra bought South Korea’s bankrupt SsangYong Motor Co. in 2011. The company also bought Italian design firm Pininfarina SpA in 2015.
