Magna International Inc. wants to build a €1.2 billion ($1.3 billion) assembly plant in Slovenia that will be able to make as many as 200,000 vehicles per year, Reuters reports, citing a government statement.
The Canadian supplier said in December it might open another factory in Europe because its contract production assembly operation in Graz, Austria, is running at full capacity. That facility makes BMW 5 Series sedans and Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUVs
The new plant will be built in four phases, according to the Slovenian government. Magna confirms only that it plans to build a paint shop in the country.
