Lear Corp. has agreed to buy Israel-based EXO Technologies LLC, which is developing an enhanced GPS technology for use in connected and autonomous vehicles.
Lear Corp. has agreed to buy Israel-based EXO Technologies LLC, which is developing an enhanced GPS technology for use in connected and autonomous vehicles. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
The proprietary technology works with existing GPS receivers to provide location accuracy within 10 cm, according to EXO.
The company claims the cloud-based system provides the most accurate real-time data to correct satellite orbit, clock and atmospheric affects without the need for terrestrial base-station networks. Such precision currently can take as much as 20 minutes to verify.
