JCI’s Power Solutions unit makes 12-volt lead-acid starter batteries and advanced batteries for hybrid and all-electric vehicles.
The company has been slowly shedding its automotive-related operations since it sold its HomeLink remote door-opener business to Gentex in 2013. The company spun off its automotive interiors business in 2016.
JCI has been focusing on its less cyclical heating/cooling, building management and fire and security systems businesses since it merged with Tyco International plc in 2016 and relocated its headquarters to Cork, Ireland.
