Innoviz to Supply Lidar to Chinese Autonomous-Tech Developer

Israel’s Innoviz Technologies Inc. says it will supply its solid-state lidar technology to Beijing-based HiRain Technologies Co., which is developing an autonomous driving system for the Chinese market.

Israel’s Innoviz Technologies Inc. says it will supply its solid-state lidar technology to Beijing-based HiRain Technologies Co., which is developing an autonomous driving system for the Chinese market.

Innoviz specializes in MEMS (micro-electro-mechanical system) solid-state lidar. The company, which is part owned by Magna International Inc. and Aptiv plc, announced a deal with Magna in April to supply lidar sensors on future BMW autonomous vehicles.

Founded in 1998, HiRain specializes in automotive electronics and safety systems. The company offers a variety of advanced driver assist systems.
