IHS Raises U.S. Sales Forecast
IHS Automotive predicts car and light truck sales in the U.S. will reach 16.4 million this year, up from its previous forecast of 16.25 million.

IHS Automotive predicts car and light truck sales in the U.S. will reach 16.4 million this year, up from its previous forecast of 16.25 million. Last year's volume was 15.6 million.
IHS says sales are growing faster than expected because of rising consumer confidence, low-cost financing, a strengthening housing market, moderate fuel prices and a bevy of models with new electronic features.
The firm expects sales in the U.S. to zoom to 17.4 million in 2015.
IHS forecasts global passenger vehicle sales will expand nearly 3% to 85.7 million units in 2014. It anticipates volume in China will rise from 21.4 million in 2013 to 23.3 million this year and 24.9 million in 2015.
